Rachael Ostovich has been suspended for 1-year after testing positive for ostarine and GW1516 metabnolites through a urine sample. The popular UFC flyweight did consume a supplement that listed a different banned substance on the label without realizing the error. The sample was tested by the World Anti-Doping Agency in Salt Lake City.
Nevertheless the penalty stands as a 1-year suspension with a 4-month credit for cooperating with the USADA investigation. This is a significantly leaner sentence than other fighters have faced.
This is also unfortunate since Rachael has not competed since January 2019. It was there, at UFC on ESPN 1 where she lost via submission to Paige VanZant.
