Both the pandemic and the riots have done little to slow the drama within the UFC. A little over a month ago, the bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo, retired inside the Octogon after defeating Dominick Cruz. A little over a week ago, the light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones asked to be released from his UFC contract.

Now, today the BMF (Baddest Mother Fucker) champion Jorge Masvidal has asked to be released from his contract.

The question is if this is a unique and unfortunate coincidence for the Ultimate Fighting Championship, or if this is a sign of things to come. Either way, it does not look good for the UFC when two of its most popular fighters are both asking for their walking papers.
