SAD FACE! Amazon’s Massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) “New World” has been delayed to spring 2021. The game’s launch was most recently scheduled for August 25th 2020. Originally, New World was set to be released in May 2020. Then in April, the release of New World was pushed back to August.
In a press release, Rich Lawrence, studio director wrote, “As a result we will be changing our launch date – and correspondingly, our final beta test – to spring 2021. We don’t make the decision lightly, and we have urgency about getting the game to you as quickly as possible at the best quality — with some additions that will make the experience even better.”
At this point, it is good that they chose a date so far out in the future. If the goalpost had been moved to October, it would have most likely led to more disappointment. There is chance that a lot more additional content will be added to the game between now and April as well. Lawrence indicated as much in his next statement. ” We’re passionate about the game we’ve been making and want to add more features and content before we share it with a wider audience.”
