Houston Rockets' Russell Westbrook Tests Positive for Coronavirus

NBA Star and Houston Rockets guard, Russell Westbrook, announced today that he has tested positive for Coronavirus.

In a statement on social media, Westbrook explained that; “I tested positive for Covid-19 prior to my team’s departure to Orlando,” said Westbrook in his statement. “I’m currently feeling well, quarantined, and looking forward to rejoining my teammates when I am cleared. Thank you all for the well wishes and continued support. Please take the virus seriously. Be safe. Mask up. #whynot”

Westbrook averaged 27.5 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists per game for the Houston Rockets this season. The Rockets have clinched a playoff spot and would resume the season on July 31st against the Dallas Mavericks.

Multiple NBA players have decided not to participate in the rest of the season due to coronavirus concerns. We wish Russel Westbrook a swift and full recovery.
