Jamie Foxx To Play Mike Tyson in Biopic "Finding Mike"

Jamie Foxx, the Oscar-winning Actor, is preparing for his roll as Mike Tyson. Foxx explained that he is going through a “Process” and will need to enter a “Dark hole” mentally to portray the famous athlete. This film has been in the works for a long time as finding the right script was integral to telling Mike’s story. Mental preparation will be one part of the transformation for Foxx as he is also bulking up for the role.

In an Instagram Live with mark Birnbaum, Jamie Foxx said: “I saw him at the height of his career, and then when things got bad and bumpy I also saw him as well. So what I’m excited about the movie is to show those moments.”

Those familiar with the life of Mike Tyson, understand that he is a very complex person who took an uniquely challenging life path. It would simplistic and myopic to either have the film focus heavily on the triumphs or failures of his life.

Mike Gerard Tyson is the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world in boxing. his boxing career spanned two decades from 1985 to 2005. He was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hod the WBA, WBC and IBF titles. He was also the first and only heavyweight boxer to unify these belts. Born in 1966, Tyson, is a father of seven biological children. He has been married multiple times, and has been with his third anc current wife, Lakiha Spicer, since 2009.

There will be a high bar for this film as this is not the first famous portrayal for Jamie Foxx. Foxx also played Ray Charles, in the 2004 biographical film “Ray”. Ray was a box office success as well as a critical one, as Jamie received an Oscar for his role.

The transformation begins… “FINDING MIKE”. It is no secret that I have been pursuing the @miketyson biopic for some time… people always ask me when is it going to happen?… things have finally lined up… A few months ago we started the journey… The first but biggest task is to transform the body… with a regiment of pull-ups dips and push-ups we are off to a pretty good start… we have a ways to go but God willing… yesterday on my good friends @markbirnbaum show. I shared these early pics of the process… like I said we have a ways to go… But I am prepared to get there! #swipeleft TYSON!
