Kobe Bryant named The Final NBA2K Cover Athlete

In a special “Mamba Forever” athelete, Los Angeles Kobe Bryant was named the final NBA2K Cover athlete. The late Bryant tragically died along with 13-year-old daughter Gianna and 7 others in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. His tragic death resonated the world over, and left with countless fans of the sporting icon in mourning.

Kobe Bryant played for the Los Angeles Lakers for 20 years. Bryant was the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in the 2007-2008 season. He won five NBA championships and was an 18-time All-Star. Kobe Bryant was one of the greatest basketball players ever. Bryant retired from professional basketball in 2016.

Two different versions of the cover were released, and are displayed in the image below. If gamers purchase “Mamba Forever Edition” on their current console, they well receive a free standard version for their next-gen consoles. Which is really good, so the game does not feel like a company is profiting of a recent tragedy. If they purchase Mamba Forever on next-gen consoles, they will be eligible for a free standard version on the current generation console.

Following the announcement, long time friend and former teammate tweeted out “Love and miss u brother”.
