Rumble is coming back.
Right off the news that Jon Jones has vacated his light heavyweight title, Anthony Johnson, 36, is planing to move up to heavyweight. Anthony “Rumble” Johnson’s manager Ali Abdelaziz has announced that Johnson will re-enter the UFC drug testing program. “Rumble” is planing to return as a light heavyweight.
The top of the light heavyweight division has recently become significantly less crowded. In the last five days, Jones has left the light heavyweight division, and former and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has announced his retirement. This might be the best chance for Anthony Jonson to become the new light heavyweight champion. The knock out artist had retired in 2017 after losing to former champion Daniel Cormier.
However, the path to the title is not completely free of challenges. Anthony “Rumble” Johnson (23-6 UFC, 22-6 MMA), would still have to defeat the likes of Dominic Reyes and Thiago Santos.
