  • Why Kanye West Is Wrong About Harriet Tubman, And Should Get Help
Kanye West, is an incredible billionaire artist, who also simultaneously, needs help. In a recent campaign rally in South Carolina, Kanye West had the audacity to criticize Harriet Tubman. Even if he used the statement to symbolize mental slavery (as many of his online supporters would claim), it still was incredibly disrespectful and trivialized her incredible achievements. Harriet Tubman was born into slavery in Dorchester County, Maryland. She was viciously beaten, and lived with the hypersomnia due to the injuries she had sustained while enslaved. She managed to escape her horrid circumstance and fled to Philadelphia. It was there where she decided to devote her life to help other slaves. She returned to Marylandand rescued her family, and eventually brought dozens of other slaves to freedom. Her work did not end there as she also was a cook, nurse, armed scout and even a spy for the Union Army. She was the first woman to ever lead an armed expedition in the American Civil War, and through her efforts liberated more than 700 slaves. Kanye stated that Harriet Tubman “never actually freed the slaves.” Which is objectively untrue. Belittling slavery and those who fought for freedom, in an attempt to express a poorly worded metaphor about systemic racism, is beneath the racial equity movement. She is already an iconic symbol of strength and freedom. Attempting to misrepresent her efforts in an attempt to pontificate about our modern struggles against inequity, is problematic at best, and depressingly ignorant at worse.
  • Drake and DJ Khaled, Joey Bada$$, & Other New Tracks For The Week
Drake and DJ Khaled – Popstar DJ Khaled described these songs as anthems, so greatness was expected for this particular collaboration. Side note before we begin, songs do not need both ‘We the best music’ and ‘Another one,’ one drop is more than sufficient. Popstar is a good track and the beat drop is hard. The production is really good and produces energy throughout the track. Drake has switched up his style again to bring us a clean but somewhat straightforward summer vibe. At first, it does not even sound like Drake. His vocals give off more of a Baby Keem vibe. The song, though not at the pinnacle of his lyrical prowess, still slaps. The hook is strong and the second verse of the song is really Drake really gets into his comfort zone, and is the strongest part of the song. As a pop-rap track it his comes across as a stronger song structurally than some of his more recent work. The first song dropped on Thursday, July 16th and is already #1 trending on YouTube. Drake and DJ Khaled – Greece Definitely gave us a The Weeknd vibe on this track. The beat is phenomenal, with outstanding production. The beat waxes and wanes throughout the track and honestly should have been saved for a more complete project. The echoed, high pitch and repetitive flow is something that is very reminiscent of Abel’s iconic vocals. If the hook had been graced by The Weeknd, this song would have been an absolute banger.

  • Goldman Sachs Says Renewable Energy Spending Surpasses Oil and Gas In 2021
Oil and Gas will be integral to the global economy for decades to come. However, the need for alternative energy sources will also become a necessity as our global energy consumption will continue to increase. Diversified energy sources is not a necessity of tomorrow, but a reality of today. Renewable energy is produced from sources that do not deplete or can be replenished within a life time.
